About James Ward
James Ward is in his early thirties. He was born and grew up on the North Norfolk coast to a fishing family and still enjoys a day at sea. His adventurous nature has led him to holiday in many parts of the world.
James has built up his business over the last eight years. Work has taken him to a wide variety of locations with his faithful Jack Russell dog by his side.
Over the years he has built beach huts in locations all along the East Anglia coast, including many at the Holkham Estate's Pinewoods Caravan Park, where he was also commissioned to create a decked and stepped walkway for visitors' safe beach access.
More unusual jobs have included the replacement of sails on a windmill and the wheelhouse of a fishing boat!

Ask James a question - please refer to forum
Q. What is the best paint to use for a beach hut exterior?
A. For maintenance use a water based paint, it's much easier to prepare when you need to repaint your hut. I use: Super Deck Satin - you can get it from all good suppliers.
Q. How often do I need to repaint the exterior?
A. Every 5 years or so, but this depends on the quality of the paint and the environment.
Q. What is the best paint for the interior?
A. Use a porous paint or you may have problems with condensation.
Q. What is a good corrosion resistant pad lock?
A. One approach is to use a cheap padlock and replace it regularly, but you can get good quality brass padlocks that last for many years.
