Overview

An above average sized beach hut on the stunning Wells Beach, with double doors that open onto a veranda with expansive views. Inside there is bench seating with storage, a table and chairs, a stove with cooking equipment, tea coffee and hot chocolate, buckets and spades, windbreaks, and a fitted basin.

Please note the following are not permitted:

dogs: the hut is in the dog-free section of the beach
overnight stays
fires, BBQs, use of candles and smoking within or the area around the huts
loud noise or disturbance to neighbouring huts

The steps up to the hut are shown in the photos, please consider if you are bringing anyone elderly or disabled.

First time to Well next the sea and hiring a beach hut 😊 and can honestly say it was the best decision the Happy days 30 Beach hut had everything we needed was so cute we absolutely loved it, everything was detailed in the booking confirmation down to the beach car park where to park and the beach cafe where we ate on arrival and would highly recommend, parking was £10 for the day which I think was really reasonable, bins for all your rubbish in the car park, highly recommended family day out

We had a great day at Happy Days, which was very clean and had all the things we needed for a fantastic family day on the beach. Happy Days is fairly close to the car park/cafe/ice creams/loos without being too close, so is great for families. We spent the day at the hut and on the beach, then went to get fish and chips. Nothing like fish and chips on the beach with a cup of freshly brewed tea watching the sun go down! A happy day at Happy Days.

We had a lovely day at Happy Days. It's very well stocked for everything that you need for a day at the beach. Only downside is that there is still a broken deck chair which needs to be repaired, previous reviews have mentioned this as it leaves only one to use which was a bit disappointing.

we had a lovely day on the beach for my birthday celebrations. The sun setting very late would have liked opportunity to stay later than 8pm

Please see the facility icons above as a starting point for what the hut offers. But here's a bit more detail: in the hut there are four wooden chairs, four canvas camping chairs with cup holders, and four blankets. In addition to the facility icons you will also find:

Cheese toasty tongs
Small saucepan and frying pan
Corkscrew/ bottle opener
Spatula
Washing up liquid
Washing up brush
Individually wrapped tea, coffee, sugar, semi-skimmed milk sticks and hot chocolate.
First aid kit and fire blanket

Please bring a tea towel for drying up and a bag to take your rubbish with you. You are asked to leave the hut clean and tidy and to never leave the stove unattended when lit: please read the safety instructions before use.

The sink is useful for washing up, but note it doesn't have a tap. From April to September there's a tap just 20 metres or so away, next to the lifeguard hut and hut 41. There's a plastic tub in the hut to carry water for washing up, but you might want to take your own bottle, something for drinking water. From October to March you may wish to bring your own drinking/washing up water as the tap is disconnected although the tap in the car park is left connected.

The food in the Beach Cafe is good but for great fish and chips it's worth stopping in Wells town or nipping back for them!

Arrival information & directions

The hut is located towards the near end of the beach, approximately 5 minutes walk from the car park, in the dog-free zone.

The code for the keysafe box will be emailed to you at 08.30am the day of your arrival.

Your options for parking are to:

1) use the beach carpark (pay and display). Get there early, before 10am on busy days, as the car park does fill up (otherwise you will be directed to the overspill car park on freeman street). The hut is nearest the far end of the carpark (furthest from the Cafe). Then walk up the wooden steps over the dunes and through the pine trees, down the other side and no.30 is about 20 yards on the right hand side. About 5 minutes walk. Or if you don't want steps you can park at the cafe end and walk around, which might take 10-15 minutes in total.

2) park in Wells town and walk down from the quay, 1 mile to the beach car park. Or in season there is an open top bus from the football field to the beach car park.

Remember to bring:

- a tea towel for washing up.

- a bag for taking your rubbish with you.

- water for drinking and washing up from 1st October to 30th March (the tap at hut 41 is turned off in the winter but the tap in the car park is left working).
