Southwold is a small town in Suffolk on the English North Sea Coast. Southwold attracts visitors with its wonderful sandy beach, a thriving market town and its very own pier.

At Southwold Pier you can enjoy a variety of delicious food, a variety of shops, its very own water clock and lots of seaside fun!

You can see a wide variety of creatures great and small at the picturesque Southwold Boating Lake, with the whole area forming part of a rich mosaic of habitats attracting the wildlife. There is a Tearoom for you to stop for a refreshment.

In 1659 a fire broke out and devastated most of the town including St Edmund´s Church, it created a lot of open spaces in the town which were never rebuilt, so there are still to this day numerous delightful village greens dotted around the town. Southwold was even mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086 for being a prosperous fishing port.

Famed for the local Adnams Beer, you can take a tour around the Brewery and make your own beer and get a taste of its delight.

Southwold is also famous for being the home to some of the most well-known literary figures.

Southwold has a wonderful beach in the town, with a pier and a lighthouse and then some surrounding popular beaches nearby which are great to explore.

There are also a variety of different Beach huts available around Southwold stretched out along the shoreline!

PROS

Dog friendly beaches, pubs and even the pier! Good Parking spaces for a popular area.

CONS

It only has one beach to visit however, if you´re travelling by car there are other great beaches very close by!

Great beach hut - big enough for 5 adults and a 3yr old. Had everything we needed and right near the loos so great for the little one!

JABBA The Beach Hut (NO. 75G)

Excellent well stocked hut...will definitely be booking again! Perfect location on the seafront if you want something a bit more private and away from the buzz

Summerlea (NO. 75F)

Perfect position. Beach hut a little need of updating and service but did the job.

Adeleide was the perfect addition to our Southwold holiday. Perfectly positioned to swim, enjoy the view and visit the pier. We would love to use it again. Thank you.

A second annual visit to Adelaide, which has been recently painted, looking very smart. Four generations had a great day, making good use of the nearby fish and chip shop, ice cream kiosk and toilets! We’re looking forward to next year already!

We had a fantastic day at 74 Adelaide. The location is perfect - close to the pier, car park, great elevated position over the beach. Our boys had a great day playing on the beach. Would highly recommend and will be booking again!
