There is always lots of shipping activity from cruise liners to yachts, windsurfers etc the beach is good for swimming and is shallow for paddling at low tide out to exposed shingle banks
From junction 2 on M27 travel south on A326 until you get to Holbury and then fork left at the roundabout onto the B3053. Continue to Calshot beach and turn left along the seafront. Hut 89D is clearly marked just before a gravel parking area.
