The hut itself is eight years old and is fully fitted with worksurface, cupboards and stove. It has protective outer doors shielding the actual hut from the elements. As previously mentioned, some sea fishing gear is included and I can vouch for the fact that large sea bass and codling can be caught right opposite the beach hut at high and slack tide. Many people swim in the safe award winning sea on this beach. We give no guarantee to the safety of the rubber dingly that is included and advise that children in particular be supervised. The hut can be used in daylight hours throughout the year, however the water supply (very close by) is available from May to October only. A new toilet block is on the other side of the boating lake, where also is a roller skating rink (just renovated) and a small entertainment arcade. There is a fish & chip shop and a general store just a very short walk away (in view from the hut) and the Dovercourt Swimming Pool is adjacent to the boating lake. Both hut entrances are secured by heavy-duty hasps and padlocks - internally there is a battery powered infa-red alarm. A recent police inspection of all the huts on the Dovercourt beach, gave ours a clean bill of health with no further security measures needed. At present it is fully insured and details can be given to the new owner. The hut has been kept in good condition and last year a new roof was professionally fitted.
