Shaldon Beach is worth visiting, a tiny gem filled with great pubs, a rowing and kayaking school, and loads of Tudor-style architecture. The beach huts here are a new build style with a nautical feel. Situated on the roadside with parking to the forecourt, they are less than a minute's walk from the red, heavily sanded beach here. Kayaks and dingy's fill one end of the little beach, so take advantage of the opportunity to get out on the water. The pubs are bustling with people having a good time and are dotted along the water's edge mixed in with an array of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Shaldon Beach has the perfect vantage point across Babbacombe Bay towards the sandbank peninsula, which can be visited by walking at low tide, a boat trip across, kayak or dingy, or by boat trip, kayak or dingy driving there across the bridge that joins the two areas. Shaldon Zoo is also situated a short distance away. Choose this beach hut location if you love the ease of access, nearby hotels, great food and pubs, and traditional Tudor buildings that have been restored and kept in perfect condition and prefer a modern style beach hut.
